It appears to be rather random, whether or not it will unlock achievements or freeze your console, so follow the the steps mentioned below, and hope for the best. This is probably the easiest method in order to unlock most, if not all, achievements in this game. Make sure you have some TV shows lined up if you are going for the achievement. Goalkeeper seems to be working the best for people in order to grind out their 500 games played, as you can just stay in goal and do nothing during the game-time. After creating your pro, you can still change his team and position, so it doesn't really matter what you pick. From there, you can start creating your Pro with whatever features you want him to have. To create your Virtual Pro, from the Main Menu, go to Virtual Pro. You'll need to play 500 games with him, so including him in as many games as you can is something that you'll need to take into account as that seems to be the only achievement that can't be unlocked whilst trying to use the glitch mentioned below.
You can switch him in between teams later when you are going for the "Around the World" achievement.
It's best to create your Virtual Pro as soon as you start the game. All these buttons have other combinations, such as + which makes your player give a lobbed through ball, and I suggest you experiment with all those in game since practise makes perfect.
